At Cedar Difference we follow the natural shape of the tree when reducing its crown. This ensures that regrowth is in proportion throughout the whole tree. Crown reduction is art as well as science and highly skilled surgery is neded to avoid stressing or misshaping the tree. Heritage Arboriculture explains the process in detail.

We reduced this copper beech so that it kept its  outline shape and its branches stayed in proportion to each other.  This allows healthy growth and the tree keeps its shape longer.

Using a harness, our tree surgeon reduced the tree from within.  It's important to get this right or risk uneven and patchy regrowth.

Willows need crown reduction at regular intervals. This allows the tree's hanging branches to show their full beauty. This tree needed  crown reduction for shaping and to enable healthy regrowth.

This tree has  an annual reduction and its growth stays in proportion. With regular maintenance willows increase their natural beauty.
Crown reduction starts within the tree so that each branch is reduced in proportion to all the others.
